Art Therapy for Adults

I believe that: 

  • everyone holds their own key to healing and transformation. 
  • we all have innate wisdom. 
  • the practices of art-making can be incredibly supportive to healing journeys. 
  • the structures in this society: capitalism, colonization and all structures of oppression, are built upon and perpetuate cycles of trauma.
  • we live in a time of grief and stress as we face the various ecological and climate crises, ongoing colonial violence and displacement, the housing crisis, the Covid-19 pandemic, and more.
  • we are being asked to dive deep into ourselves to meet these times with full hearts, to reach towards liberation. Many of us need new tools to do this. 


And I believe that we have all developed coping strategies to manage the stress of our lives, and that sometimes the time comes where these coping strategies no longer serve us. 


Issues I work with include:

  • anxiety
  • depression
  • grief
  • questioning sexuality 
  • questioning gender
  • navigating change 
  • stressful life events
  • unpacking and navigating oppression
  • burnout
  • social challenges
  • eco-grief and anxiety
  • shame and guilt
  • self-esteem
  • and more...


We will work together to:

  • foster a sense of connection and belonging
  • listen to your own inner wisdom 
  • cultivate self-compassion 
  • deepen self-understanding
  • find activities that support your nervous system
  • work through and integrate challenging life experiences


Often with adults I find embodiment based art-making and dream work to be incredibly supportive. We will start by trying out various art-making activities and see which ones resonate most with you. While my focus is on working with adults in the LGBTQ2SIA+ community, I am open to anyone who feels I am a good fit for them.

Late stage capitalism is wrecking havoc on this earth. From the housing crisis to the rise of the alt-right to on-going colonial violence and displacement to ecological devastation, I am here to support you in doing this work as best as I can. 


Often issues that come up associated with frontline struggle include:

  • burnout
  • fear and anxiety
  • depression
  • state repression
  • social challenges
  • unpacking and navigating oppression
  • shame and guilt
  • stress management
  • eco-grief


Together, we can work through what has come up for you. Together, we can work towards liberation of Self intertwined with the collective. Liberation is hard work and many of us need new tools.  I am here to support you in cultivating your own inner-knowing and self-compassion while navigating these challenging times through various art-making, mindfulness, embodiment, and breathing exercises aimed at:


  • listening to your own inner wisdom
  • cultivating a sense of belonging and connection
  • nervous system regulation  
  • working through and integrating challenging life experiences
  • deepening self-compassion, self-acceptance, and self-understanding


I also want to acknowledge the toxic soup of this society that we all swim in. While therapy can be incredibly supportive in facilitating healing, unlearning toxicity, reaching towards collective and individual liberation, and in nurturing our sense of well-being, the very roots of oppression cannot be made the responsibility of the individual to heal on their own. And yet we can support ourselves and each other. Group work is one way we can cultivate the healing power of community.
